History of Avant
At Avant, we are passionate about planting the church where it does not yet exist through church planting and church support ministries.Founded in 1892 Avant Ministries (formerly known as Gospel Missionary Union) is one of the oldest missionary sending agencies in the United States. As the first evangelical mission to enter Ecuador in South America and the Republic of Mali in West Africa, innovative methods have always been part of our culture.
Today, Avant is moving into new territories with new initiatives to preach the unchanging gospel of Jesus Christ. We believe nationally-led churches have the opportunity to spread the gospel in their unique cultural context, and we’re committed to partnering with national believers who can carry on the work and multiply the results. - Taken from www.avantministries.org/history
